Brooke is a science journalist, an award-winning documentary film producer, and a former Team USA Freestyle Kayaker.

 

She has a bachelor's degree in geoscience and a master's in journalism with a focus on science journalism. She is a cofounder of the production company, Ripple Skip Collective, and was a producer, cinematographer, and expedition team member for The Grand Salmon, an award-winning feature documentary film about the declining salmon populations of the Snake River Basin. For this project, Brooke and two other women spent 78 days kayaking over 1,000 miles from the source of the Salmon River to the Pacific Ocean, following and documenting the natural migration of anadromous fish to find out why the fish are going extinct. 

 

Brooke's recent reporting and photojournalism for The Associated Press has been featured on CNN, PBS, The Today Show, The New York Times, LA Times, Seattle Times, The Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, and USA Today.
